Start with demand, not with a model number
The right compressor depends on flow (cfm/m3/min), pressure, duty cycle, air quality needs, and how demand varies across the shift. Buying only on horsepower often leads to short-cycling, excess energy use, or insufficient air at peak.
Screw vs reciprocating
Screw compressors suit continuous or high-duty industrial demand with smoother delivery. Reciprocating compressors can fit intermittent use or lower duty where first cost and simplicity matter. Many plants standardise on screw for main production air.
Oil-injected vs oil-free
Oil-injected screw machines are common for general factory air when filtration meets the process. Oil-free is preferred where product contact or standards require minimal oil risk (certain food, pharma, or electronics applications). Confirm the ISO air-quality class your process needs.
Do not forget treatment and storage
